Invest in Gold

Average time to read4:20 minutes aprox.

President Yar' Adua regime brought a lot of scare to heads of different government parastatals from the removal of the Head of NNPC to the restructuring of the EFCC. I personally believe this scenario immediately caused panic in the camp of Professor Soludo because he immediately reacted with the a «not too familiar»Â economic reform; deleting two decimal places from the value of the naira. If you have a thousand naira, your money is immediately valued at ten naira. The explanation was very simple; it would force the dollars to come down and improve the economy. I personally do not think this is true and I believe it was politically instigated. But on a personal level, my reaction to this announcement was how I was going to profit from this policy. I immediately knew that substituting my cash to liquid asset was the key to the solution.

THE CULTURE OF A SUCCESFUL INVESTOR

Average time to read8:43 minutes aprox.

I am very sorry that I have been MIA for a while; what can I say? I have been uber busy but don't fret; I am working pretty hard to bring to fruition the vision of financial independence. I have had a secret fear for some time now especially those days I was under the payroll of various corporate establishments. In order to provide temporary solution to this fear, I learnt the skills of office politics, arse-licking, clichés, show-offs and diplomacy but I found out these skills were band aids to a deeply rooted issue. I was so scared that I lost my soul; I have cars, land properties, investment portfolios, small businesses, etc which I guarded with gusto but I failed to guard the most important asset in the world – my soul. I was so afraid that my soul was in constant torment.

GET RICH QUICK!

Average time to read7:51 minutes aprox.

As I sat in my hotel room hammering away in my notebook, my eyes went straight to my beautiful wife and daughter sleeping cozily, tucked in a thick blanket without a care in the world. The first thought that came to my mind was «the life of a man is not that easy; responsibility upon responsibility» then my mind immediately raced to the conversation I had on phone with a friend the previous day before travelling. My friend made a statement that really got my attention; «This 2008, I am not going to involve myself in a «get rich quick» scheme but I would focus only on shares (referring to investing in the Nigerian Stock Exchange)». This kind of thinking re-enforces and fuels my confirmation that Nigerian Youths really need help in Financial Education if the next generation is going to experience a New Nigeria. There is an urgent need for reframing the minds of Nigerian Youths or they can never catch up with the global trend hence be lost in this «survival» mode of being. Nigerian Youths majorly think of how their families are going to survive hence fails to attempt anything that blow them up financially to aid their society.

ASSET vs. LIABILITY

Average time to read6:49 minutes aprox.

I drew the curtain open this season by entering an unkempt dark room disorganized with furniture (to review last post, click HERE). I was looking for a key; a key that would open the door to leverage investment which automatically increases the number of financially independent Nigerian. My belief is premised on the fact that if there are more financial independent Nigerians, there would be a huge progression in the economy of Nigeria as a whole therefore leading to a better life (if not for us, for our children).  The issue with Nigeria is not the corrupt leaders because the leaders definitely did not fall from the sky since the leaders are product of the society. If the leaders are termed «corrupt», then we are definitely corrupt. If the aforementioned argument does not go down with you, then look at it this way; the only reason a man will enter a position of leadership and loots almost everything is because is mentality is on the Maslow's Physiological statement. He/her primal instincts read survival which describe majority of Nigerian Youths.

SEASON TO LEVERAGE

Average time to read6:55 minutes aprox.

It's a new season in most peoples' lives and a burden was laid upon me to look for a missing key in a dark room. By intuition, I was led to the dark room; my entrance into the dark room saw me stumbling from a piece of furniture. I immediately got a grip of myself and could sense cobwebs and pieces of furniture scattered in all direction. The room was very dark and my first attempt to look for the key was an ugly incidence; my hand struck a nail and the excruciating pain made me scream at the top of my voice. I immediately removed the nail from my hand but the pain was so much that I groped for the wall to rest. During that pain period, I could not think of what to do; my first reaction was to stop the pain. Why was I even looking for a key in a dark room? When and if I get the missing key; what is the usefulness of it?
