BEGGING BEGGARS

Average time to read2:09 minutes aprox.

The popular Apongbon Bridge in Lagos that links the Island to the Mainland is usually dilapidated despite constant repairs by the government. The bridge is also crammed with beggars and hawkers scrounging car owners for money or exchange of goods for money as the traffic becomes very intense leading to discomfort, burn-out and theft. Taking a peek into the world of these destitute, one would have a different perspective opposite to the pity party this scene can conjure in the hearts of average Lagosians. I was privy to a sight that shook me from my hair to my toe nail while driving across the bridge late one night, I saw some men destroying the road with a huge mallet.

THE ACT OF PROSTITUTION

Average time to read3:03 minutes aprox.

It was some years ago as I am no longer certain when I was faced with two beautiful ladies in Lagos Sheraton Hotel; one was a Briton and the other a Nigerian. The room was 519 and it commanded an air of warmth despite the harsh Air Conditioning finding its way through my St. Michael's suit. I felt at ease just looking at the red carpet room, stoned wall and rich pine furniture with tasteful finish. As the negotiations ensued, my phone began to ring; I was immediately troubled because I was about to commit the act of prostitution

PALOMA!!!!!!!!

Average time to read2:53 minutes aprox.

Its 8.45pm on a week day and 65% of Lagos residence is getting ready for their favorite sitcom popular known as «Paloma». Paloma is one of the star characters in the series called «Cuando Seas Mia» translated «When you are mine». The plot is interesting, awesome and riveting, the genre is drama and the entire package is very colorful. I personally don't have issues with its success but the inability of film practitioners in Nigeria to take a toll from the strategies used by these Mexican Film Producers.

THE DA VINCI CODE

Average time to read2:46 minutes aprox.

The act of using controversy as an effective form of sales has always yielded result, and my thought begin to do the numbers of  various products, artists, names, etc that have employed this creative vehicle to succeed in their giving endeavor. The bible, the best selling book of all time, was borne out of controversy; Madonna, one of the bestselling musicians of all time, used sex as weaponry to command popularity; Passion of the Christ, sold out based on the Jewish Society's acrimony towards the film. The list goes on and on as I remembered the days of gangster rap where this tool was the only means of guaranteed record sales.

LIAR LIAR

Average time to read3:02 minutes aprox.

This life seems to favor those that live a lie; living a lie or telling a lie is about the same but before I delve deep into this very controversial issue that denies us from reaching our full potential, I would love to define «lie» as inscribed in the Encarta Dictionary;

ABORTION

Average time to read3:11 minutes aprox.

Today is my first day on vacation and I was troubled with the news a young friend of mine brought to my attention at 11.00pm Nigerian Time, 1 week ago. I was quickly alerted because prior to this said date I have not heard from her for about 3 months.
My troubles came as a result of an internal turmoil from indecisiveness to maintain a stand on the issue of abortion………………….
